Happy Halloween to those celebrating back home, or those who, like me, are missing it.

French pumpkins look weird, don’t they? I don’t believe these can be carved.

They’re beautiful, I think. But no they do not seem like they could be carved.
Happy Halloween!

They seem to have more of the Cinderella-carriage look to them than the American pumpkins.
Completely unrelated … I came across your current blog after reading Offbeat Bride, seeing your story, and learned you are/were Dear Donut, which I used to read on LJ (and submitted to once). So I’m just waving Hello.

Oh, hi! How strange… you’re the second person this week who has contacted because she remembered deardonut. Which is particularly strange because I was under the impression that I never had more than about 30 readers for that blog.

I know I read Dear Donut on more than one occasion . . . .
Yes, pretty pumpkins, but they do look eminently uncarvable.

I’m sorry you are homesick for Halloween!
If it makes you feel any better, I only got 3 trick-or-treaters at my house!

Trick or treating, after steadily going upwards the last few years, was quite down this time. It wasn’t even that cold.
